It started with a seed of an idea over 35 years ago… a roadside stand offering apples from the Algoma orchard.  Fruit picked from the nearby trees was the ultimate in freshness.  It even seemed to taste better.  And it felt good buying produce from the people who helped work the soil.

Today, Algoma Orchards still has the attitude and freshness that a roadside stand offers.  But it has grown - just like the apple trees on its farms in north Whitby, and Newcastle, Ontario, Canada.  Now it's a country-style general store, a bakery, a farm market, and a state-of-the-art packing plant. It's 1999 merger with Twin Brand Orchards, Inc. of Newcastle Ontario, has made it a force to reckon with in the wholesale market. Algoma now deals in wholesale strawberry sales as well during the months of June & July.

Algoma Apple Market's bakery turns out fresh baked pies and other delicious breads and desserts.  We carry a full line of Kawartha Dairy products and ice cream, homemade fudge, frozen entrees, fruits and vegetables -- even charming handmade crafts and gifts.

Algoma Orchards is a member of the Ontario Farm Fresh Marketing Association, the Durham Farm Fresh Association, and the Tourist Association of Durham Region.
